Empower students in an educational setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting school-based therapy services on a contract basis. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a tangible difference in young lives while collaborating with educators and therapists in a dynamic school community near Woodbridge, VA.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active COTA license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred
  • Ability to follow treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement prescribed therapy interventions and activities with students, as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with developing and modifying materials to support student achievement of IEP goals
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to teachers and staff on strategies to support student access and participation
