Work closely with K-12 students, from elementary through high school, in a dynamic educational setting located near Ypsilanti, MI. This role begins in August and will run through December, with the potential to extend into the spring semester.
Applicants should bring a passion for working within school environments and be eager to contribute to student success and independence. As a valued member of a collaborative therapy team, you will implement individualized intervention plans, support student participation in daily school routines, and communicate progress with educators and families.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current COTA license in Michigan (or eligibility)
- Experience or keen interest in school-based practice
- Understanding of K-12 developmental stages
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Collaborative mindset for working with therapists, educators, and families
- Adaptability across diverse student needs and grade levels
Core Responsibilities:
- Carry out occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support K-12 students in developing skills for classroom and campus participation
- Document services and maintain accurate student records
- Participate in IEP meetings and planning as needed
- Adjust interventions to meet the evolving needs of students, teachers, and school programs
- Maintain a professional and positive rapport with school staff and families
