Apply NowStep into a rewarding opportunity serving students in a dynamic school setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a contract assignment. This position will provide coverage for a maternity leave, with an immediate start and continuing through December. The role spans five diverse campuses, including elementary, middle, and high school levels, offering a unique chance to support student progress across a variety of age groups.
Your caseload will include approximately 75 students, with a significant focus on those at the secondary level who are typically seen monthly or on a consultative basis. You'll support student success, collaborate with educators, and help deliver valuable interventions that make a difference every day.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification and active state licensure as a COTA
- Experience in a school setting preferred, with understanding of IEPs and related documentation
- Ability to manage a sizable, diverse caseload across multiple sites
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Flexibility, reliability, and positive professional attitude
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy support services under the supervision of an OT in individual, small group, and consultative formats
- Implement IEP goals focused on helping students access their curriculum and functional tasks
- Travel between assigned sites (2 elementary, 1 middle, 2 high schools) to serve students
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student independence and participation
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress
- Offer consultative support, particularly with secondary-level students
