We are seeking a dedicated school counselor with a strong background in providing counseling services to students with a range of disabilities, including emotional and intellectual challenges as well as autism. This contract assignment covers both elementary and secondary grade levels, offering you the chance to broaden your professional experience and positively impact a diverse student population.

This role is set to begin as soon as the week of August 17 (finalized start date may be as late as September 7, dependent on budget approval) and extends through mid-May 2027. You’ll work 8-hour days, two days per week, always scheduled on the same campus to minimize travel and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary and/or secondary students
  • Background in counseling students with disabilities such as emotional and intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Strong communication skills and an empathetic, student-centered approach
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support individualized student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both individual and group counseling to students with disabilities
  • Develop and implement behavior and intervention plans in collaboration with school staff
  • Consult with teachers, families, and support personnel regarding student progress and strategies
  • Document student progress and maintain confidential records in accordance with school and legal guidelines
  • Contribute to campus-wide initiatives that promote mental health and emotional well-being
