School Counselor in Arroyo Grande, CA

You’ll serve onsite as part of an LVN pool, contributing to school wellness alongside dedicated professionals. Your primary role includes providing care, monitoring student health, and potentially supporting individual students one-on-one, depending on school needs. With a consistent 32.5-hour workweek (6.5 hours per day during the regular school year), you’ll enjoy predictability in your schedule and the option to sign up for Extended School Year (ESY) shifts if you wish.

Requirements for this position:

• Current, active California LVN License
• Previous experience in school settings, counseling, or pediatric care preferred
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Compassion and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
• Must be available for onsite work throughout the assignment duration

Primary responsibilities:

• Support overall student health, including medication administration and first aid
• Participate in the LVN pool and assist with 1:1 care as assigned
• Communicate with school counselors, staff, and families regarding students’ medical needs
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality
• Act as a resource for health-related questions within the school community
• Foster a safe and supportive environment for all students
