Step into a meaningful role delivering Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) across multiple locations in the San Francisco area. Bring your expertise to support students from early childhood through transition ages as an itinerant mental health professional committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide school-based counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health services to students districtwide
  • Maintain a flexible caseload, traveling to various school sites as needed
  • Collaborate with educational professionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop plans supporting each student’s social-emotional growth
  • Document clinical activities in accordance with district and licensing standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to eligibility assessments, and advise on best practices for supporting student well-being
  • Ensure compliance with California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) standards and all district protocols
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and complete mandatory fingerprinting/background checks

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related field
  • Active registration as an Associate (AMFT, APCC, or ASW) with the BBS and in process of accruing hours toward LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW licensure
  • California Law and Ethics Exam successfully completed; working toward completion of clinical licensing exam
  • At least 3,000 hours of supervised work experience (or in process)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in school settings is highly valued
  • Compliance with Live Scan fingerprinting/background check requirements

This contract position (August 11, 2026 – June 2, 2027; 35 hours per week) offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work onsite only, directly impacting students across different campuses.
