Step into a vital role supporting middle school students in a specialized therapeutic program. Seeking an Adjustment Counselor or School Psychologist to provide guidance and advocacy for a small cohort of diverse learners during a maternity leave coverage. This full-time contract position (32.5 hours per week) begins as soon as possible, with potential to extend through the end of the school year.
Work closely with students in grades 6-8—approximately 14 in total—with a blend of general education and special education needs. Your expertise will help foster emotional growth and resilience in an encouraging environment.
Qualifications:
- Active DESE certification required
- Background as a School Counselor, Adjustment Counselor, or School Psychologist
- Experience supporting both general education and special education students
- Familiarity with therapeutic educational programs preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create a safe, supportive atmosphere for middle schoolers
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to address social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Implement evidence-based interventions targeted to students’ unique goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and specialists to ensure consistent support
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress monitoring
