Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (active license/certification details must be included with application)
• Previous experience working with high school populations is strongly preferred
• Solid foundation in academic advising, college/career planning, and social-emotional support
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to form positive relationships with students and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

Role Responsibilities:

• Counsel high school students on academic planning and progress towards graduation
• Assist with college admissions processes, scholarship guidance, and career exploration activities
• Address students’ social/emotional needs with proactive and responsive counseling
• Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement student support strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and records as required by state and district guidelines
• Communicate regularly with families and educators to ensure student needs are met
