Step into a rewarding role guiding elementary students on their academic and personal journeys in a contract position for the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity involves working with a diverse caseload of 350 elementary students, providing full-time support from August 10, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
Key Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a School Counselor
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with career and educational planning activities for young learners
- Ability to lead both individual and group guidance sessions
- Comfortable facilitating parent engagement through monthly evening sessions
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver career guidance programming, introducing students to “career competencies,” exploring career options, and fostering positive decision-making skills.
- Lead educational planning and transitioning support, including orientation activities between elementary and middle school and developing “5 Year Plans of Study.”
- Guide and assist with post-secondary educational planning, including college and technical school research, presentations, SAT/PSAT prep, and promoting early financial aid awareness.
- Organize and conduct monthly evening counseling sessions for parents, offering both group activities and individual appointments to ensure holistic support for students.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff, fostering a supportive school culture that prioritizes student growth.
