School Counselor in Cheraw, SC

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid school counseling certification or eligibility in the state
• Previous experience as a counselor, preferably within elementary school settings
• Understanding of Pre-K to 2nd grade developmental needs and social-emotional growth
• Ability to build rapport with young children as well as team members and parents
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct counseling services to students in individual and group settings
• Create and implement lessons supporting character development, conflict resolution, and emotional well-being
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and administrators
• Assess student concerns and connect individuals with resources or interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and compliance with school policies
• Participate in school-wide initiatives to support a positive school climate
