School Counselor in Chesterfield, SC

Make an impact where it matters most—support young students’ growth and well-being as a full-time, on-site School Counselor for Pre-K to 2nd graders. This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to nurture students’ social, emotional, and academic development as part of a dedicated elementary team.

Located near Chesterfield, SC, the role encompasses a full school calendar through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year. As a School Counselor serving a Pre-K to 2nd grade caseload, you will play a vital part in helping young learners overcome challenges, develop coping skills, and thrive in their earliest school experiences.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid state licensure or certification as a School Counselor (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience or strong interest in working with Pre-K through 2nd grade students
• Ability to engage young children with creative, age-appropriate counseling methods
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to supporting the social-emotional and developmental needs of young learners
• Previous school-based counseling experience preferred

Your daily contributions will include:

• Providing individual and group counseling to support students’ social and emotional needs
• Collaborating with teachers and administrators to develop strategies and interventions
• Assisting with the identification of student needs and crisis intervention as necessary
• Supporting families in addressing challenges and accessing resources
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school climate

This is a full-time onsite position (40 hours/week), with no virtual assignments currently available. The assignment runs from as soon as possible through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, offering stability and the chance to form lasting relationships in the elementary school community.
