Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid licensure or certification as a School Counselor or Social Worker (as required by state guidelines)
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in educational or therapeutic settings
- Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention, and student support strategies
- Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with teachers, administrators, and parents
- Empathy, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services tailored to students’ academic, career, and personal/social development
- Address issues such as stress, peer relationships, academic challenges, and behavioral concerns
- Participate in intervention planning, IEP meetings, and student support teams as needed
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families, connecting them with community resources or additional supports
- Develop and implement programs that foster a positive, inclusive school culture
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with applicable laws and policies
