The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027.

Essential Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program
• Ability to secure the required Virginia school counseling license or endorsement
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and comprehensive records

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver academic, career, and social-emotional counseling tailored to elementary-age students
• Assess student needs and track progress to guide interventions and support
• Consult with families, teachers, and school staff to coordinate care and services
• Facilitate referrals for students requiring additional support beyond the school's resources
• Uphold professional ethics, maintaining records and student confidentiality at all times
• Stay current with best practices, participating in ongoing training when available
