Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field (required)
- Active state licensure as a mental health professional (LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with school-age children or adolescents
- Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop rapport and trust with students, parents, and staff
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective interventions
- Conduct assessments to identify barriers to student success and recommend strategies for personal growth
- Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and progress notes in accordance with school policies and regulations
- Support a positive school climate by participating in community-building activities and wellness initiatives
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations or urgent mental health concerns as needed
