School Counselor in Grover Beach, CA

This contract position is ideal for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) interested in working within an educational setting, providing healthcare and wellness support to students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role operates onsite only, ensuring hands-on involvement and collaboration with school teams and fellow LVNs.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and valid California LVN license
• Previous experience in school settings or youth counseling is highly valued
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and school staff
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Commitment to maintaining student health, privacy, and safety on campus

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide daily health services to students as part of an LVN team
• Possible 1:1 support for students with medical needs as determined by the school
• Participate in health assessments, medication administration, and emergency response
• Maintain accurate health records and communication with faculty and parents/guardians
• Educate students on wellness, hygiene, and chronic condition management in partnership with counselors
• Flexible for possible ESY (Extended School Year) hours, if desired (not mandatory)

Additional Details:

This contract covers the regular school year from August 10, 2026, to August 6, 2027, with a focus on 32.5 hours each week (6.5 hours/day). Extended School Year participation is optional and scheduled based on staff sign-up. The LVN Pool structure allows you to work closely with other licensed professionals and gain diverse experience within the student population.
