School Counselor - Kenner, LA

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
• Active and valid School Counselor Certificate
• Preferred: At least three years of successful teaching experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Implement school guidance curriculum and educational programs
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to identify and address students’ needs
• Advise on academic planning, career exploration, and social relationships
• Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution services
• Participate in school-wide initiatives to enhance student well-being and performance

Position Details:

• Onsite at LaPlace Elementary (1 position) and Garyville Elementary (1 position)
• Full-time, 35 hours per week
• Contract dates: ASAP through 5/26/2027
