Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a School Counselor in an elementary school environment. Two full-time, contract opportunities are available for dedicated professionals to serve at LaPlace Elementary and Garyville Elementary, working onsite in a supportive educational setting. You’ll be an essential part of fostering academic, emotional, and social growth for students through focused counseling services and collaborative teamwork.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
  • Active, valid School Counselor Certificate
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, staff, students, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, personal, and social development
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement student support plans
  • Conduct assessments and maintain documentation in alignment with district and school guidelines
  • Promote a safe and positive school culture through preventative programming
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, special education interventions, and ongoing professional development

Position Details:

  • Contract position, full-time (35 hours/week)
  • Onsite service in elementary school settings
  • Immediate start with assignment through the end of the 2026-2027 school year
