Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid license or certification as a School Counselor or School Social Worker (state requirements apply)
  • Previous experience in school settings is highly desirable
  • Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with counseling best practices, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and crisis intervention techniques
  • Organized, empathetic, and committed to promoting student well-being

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with academic, social, and emotional challenges
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student success
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators on student support plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on behavioral and social-emotional goals
  • Work with families to provide guidance and connect them to community resources
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and district policies
