Qualifications:
- Hold a valid license or certification as a School Counselor or School Social Worker (state requirements apply)
- Previous experience in school settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with counseling best practices, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and crisis intervention techniques
- Organized, empathetic, and committed to promoting student well-being
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with academic, social, and emotional challenges
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student success
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators on student support plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on behavioral and social-emotional goals
- Work with families to provide guidance and connect them to community resources
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and district policies
