School Counselor - Lowell, MA

Key Qualifications:

• Active Counselor License is required
• Previous experience supporting elementary school students is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to uphold confidentiality and build trust with young learners
• Creative problem-solver and advocate for student well-being
• Adaptable to school-based, in-person work (virtual/remote work is not permitted)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional and academic support to elementary students
• Conduct individual and small group counseling sessions
• Collaborate with teachers, administration, and parents to promote student success
• Implement evidence-based interventions and support programs
• Lead classroom guidance activities centered on personal development and social skills
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring confidentiality at all times
• Actively participate in school meetings, workshops, and student planning initiatives

Role Details:

• Placement at Shawsheen Elementary School, within a supportive and welcoming district
• Contract assignment from November 5, 2026, through December 23, 2027
• Standard school schedule (37.5 hours per week) for optimal work-life balance
• Elementary caseload, fostering student growth during formative years
