This assignment offers the chance to work across a selection of elementary and middle schools, supporting the academic and emotional well-being of approximately 30 students on various campuses. With a flexible, part-time schedule of 16 hours per week, you can dedicate your expertise where it's needed most, while maintaining work-life balance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Possess a current LPC license in Texas OR are certified as a special education counselor if not LPC-licensed
- Prior experience in K-8 counseling settings is preferred
- Comfortable traveling between multiple school campuses
- Strong skills in counseling, goal-setting, and advocating for student needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and other professionals
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
- Deep understanding of student developmental stages and social-emotional health
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group counseling to address students’ emotional, social, and academic challenges
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to develop intervention plans
- Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff regarding mental health and community supports
- Document sessions and maintain confidentiality in all student records
- Travel as needed between up to five campus locations, ensuring continuity of service
- Contribute to the development of positive school climates and safe learning environments
