School Counselor - Mckeesport, PA

A K-5 contract opportunity is now available for a dedicated School Counselor in the Pittsburgh, PA area. In this leave replacement role, you'll support elementary students and staff in a vibrant school environment. This position is full-time, with a 40-hour schedule each week, beginning as soon as possible and running through a to-be-determined end date.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania School Counselor K-12 License listed on TIMS
• Ability to obtain (or current possession of) all required Pennsylvania background clearances prior to start date
• Experience working with K-5 student populations preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Compassionate approach to student support and problem-solving

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling services to students in grades K-5, supporting emotional, social, and academic development
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to enhance student well-being and success
• Conduct individual and small group counseling sessions as needed
• Participate in the development and implementation of programs to promote a positive school climate
• Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with school and state regulations
• Respond effectively to crises and support students through challenging situations
