What you bring:

• Current Delaware School Counselor Certification, required
• Experience working as a counselor, guidance counselor, or similar support role within a school setting
• Strong ability to connect with and support high school-aged students
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines

What you'll do:

• Provide academic, social-emotional, and career guidance to a diverse high school population
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ individualized needs
• Maintain accurate, timely records of counseling interactions and interventions
• Assist students with course selection, college applications, and scholarship opportunities as appropriate
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on relevant topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and goal setting
• Respond promptly and effectively to student crises or urgent needs, following school protocols
• Help foster an inclusive and supportive school environment during the 12-week leave
