School Counselor | Pageland, South Carolina

Empower young learners and make a difference as a dedicated counselor supporting Pre-K to 2nd grade students in an engaging elementary school setting. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers the chance to work closely with teachers, parents, and staff in a collaborative environment focused on student success and well-being. The contract runs from ASAP through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, creating ample opportunity to build meaningful relationships and contribute to a positive school community.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid school counseling certification or eligibility for certification in South Carolina
• Experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and crisis intervention techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust with young children and their families
• Organized and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities throughout the school day
• Committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to Pre-K through 2nd grade students on academic, social, and emotional matters
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students in need of additional support or intervention
• Deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned with school counseling standards
• Implement preventive and responsive strategies to foster a safe and inclusive school climate
• Consult with families, sharing resources and strategies to support students’ growth both in and out of school
• Maintain clear documentation and participate in relevant meetings or committees as requested
