School Counselor - Peterborough, New Hampshire

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Adjustment Counselor on a contract basis near Peterborough, NH. In this role, you'll deliver vital responsive and rehabilitative services to children and their families, empowering students to thrive in both academics and daily life. Your expertise will benefit multiple elementary campuses in the area, working collaboratively with educational teams to promote social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

This position begins on August 26, 2026, and continues through June 15, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek and an engaging variety of settings—work is split across four elementary schools (Franklin and Wheelock at 20% each; Symonds and Fuller at 30% each).

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree required, coupled with experience as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, School Counselor, or Mental Health clinician with relevant school-based practice
• Eligibility for New Hampshire certification in any of the following: School Counselor (NH 0040), School Psychologist (NH 0046), Associate School Psychologist (NH 0047), or School Social Worker (NH 0049)
• Strong background in providing counseling, consultation, and intervention to diverse elementary-aged students
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary educational teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer counseling and crisis intervention to individual students and small groups
• Develop and implement student support plans tailored to varied needs
• Consult with educators and families on student challenges and progress
• Contribute to a positive, supportive school climate across multiple locations
