School Counselor in Peterborough, NH

Make an immediate impact as a contract virtual school counselor, working one-on-one with a 5th-grade male student requiring support while awaiting an out-of-district placement. This flexible, short-term opportunity (anticipated to last two weeks to one month, subject to change) offers an important chance to support a student during a pivotal transitional period. You will provide direct counseling services online for one hour each week, with potential for additional indirect service time as appropriate.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver individualized virtual counseling sessions to a 5th-grade student, focusing on social, emotional, and behavioral support
• Collaborate remotely with parents, educators, and other service providers to address the student’s evolving needs
• Document student progress and maintain thorough records in accordance with district policies
• Adjust counseling approaches as needed, ensuring a supportive, student-centered environment
• Participate in brief team meetings or consultations as necessary to coordinate care

Who We’re Looking For:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a related field
• Current counseling certification or state licensure (school counselor preferred)
• Experience supporting elementary or middle school students, especially in a virtual or remote setting
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and adaptability
• Reliable internet connection and ability to conduct secure video sessions
