This full-time position works with a dynamic caseload of middle and high school students, offering both individual and group counseling. You'll play a crucial role in supporting students as they navigate personal, social, academic, and emotional challenges during these formative years.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active Colorado School Counseling license required
- Previous experience working with middle and high school students strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support diverse student needs
- Understanding of academic requirements, graduation pathways, and student goal-setting
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including participation in regularly scheduled SPED meetings
- Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to address a variety of student needs
- Assist with developing and implementing coping strategies and problem-solving skills for students
- Guide students in course selection, academic placement, and progress toward graduation requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and the SPED team to coordinate comprehensive support plans
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality according to ethical standards and school policy
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute insights as caseload details are finalized
