School Counselor | Quincy, Massachusetts

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a school counselor supporting middle school students in a specialized therapeutic program. Beginning immediately, this position covers a maternity leave and may extend through the end of the school year, offering full-time hours—32.5 per week—working with a small, close-knit group of students.

You’ll provide crucial social and emotional support to students in grades 6–8, working within a therapeutic setting that services both general and special education populations. With just 14 students, you’ll have the chance to truly connect and make a meaningful impact, helping them manage challenges and develop essential coping skills.

Key Qualifications:

• Current DESE certification as an Adjustment Counselor or School Psychologist is required
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly in a therapeutic or counseling capacity
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to collaborate within an educational team and with families
• Compassion and adaptability to meet diverse student needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional, behavioral, and social needs
• Develop and implement strategies to support student well-being and growth
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff on student plans
• Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to IEP/504 processes as appropriate
• Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and restorative practices
