Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students’ growth and emotional well-being as a School Counselor. Two full-time roles are available, each based onsite at separate elementary schools. You will work closely with faculty, families, and students to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in School Counseling required
- Active School Counselor Certificate
- At least three years of successful teaching experience preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive counseling services to elementary students, addressing both academic and socio-emotional needs
- Support students through individual and group counseling sessions, providing crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that help students succeed
- Facilitate programs to promote positive peer relationships, self-esteem, and conflict resolution skills
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all counseling interactions per professional standards
Additional Details:
- Full-time schedule: 35 hours per week
- Locations: LaPlace Elementary and Garyville Elementary
- Onsite assignment with a contract duration through May 26, 2027
