Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives while sharpening your clinical expertise in school-based mental health. Highly skilled counselors are needed to provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) throughout a large district near San Francisco, CA. This is a full-time, contract role for the 2026-2027 school year (August 11, 2026 – June 2, 2027) with a 35-hour workweek, serving an itinerant, districtwide EC-Transition caseload.

Qualifications and Licensure Requirements:

  • Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related field
  • Active or eligible California licensure: LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW, per Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) standards
  • At least 3,000 hours of supervised experience; registered as an Associate (AMFT, APCC, or ASW) if not fully licensed
  • Successful completion of California Law & Ethics Exam and clinical licensing exam as required
  • Up-to-date knowledge of state regulations; readiness to comply with Live Scan fingerprinting and background checks
  • Experience providing ERMHS or similar mental health services to K-12 students preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site mental health services for special education and general student populations across multiple district locations
  • Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide direct counseling for social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Consult with educational staff and families to promote student well-being and positive school engagement
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district requirements
  • Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team in IEP meetings and program development
