Make a difference in students’ lives as an Adjustment Counselor on a contract basis for the remainder of the school year. This role offers the opportunity to build relationships, provide social-emotional support, and collaborate with a committed educational team near Springfield, MA. Your specialized skills as a School Counselor or Social Worker will help guide students through challenges and foster a healthy, supportive environment for learning.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Professional experience as a School Counselor, Social Worker, or similar counselor role within K-12 schools
- Current or eligible state licensure/certification in School Counseling, Social Work, or Adjustment Counseling
- Solid understanding of social-emotional development, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care
- Exceptional communication and rapport-building abilities with students, staff, and families
- Strong collaborative skills and a proactive approach to student advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students facing personal, behavioral, or academic concerns
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized support plans and intervention strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster student well-being and positive school climate
- Facilitate crisis intervention, assessment, and referral to necessary resources or outside agencies when needed
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation of services, progress, and recommendations
- Support professional development for staff around mental health and student adjustment strategies
