Make an extraordinary impact on young lives as a dedicated school counselor working with an elementary caseload of 350 students. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to shape the future for children in a vibrant school setting, guiding them through important academic, personal, and career decision-making steps. The assignment runs from August 10, 2026 through June 16, 2027, with regular hours Monday through Friday (7.5 hours daily).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individual and group career guidance activities, focusing on career competencies, exploration, and informed decision-making.
  • Support students in educational transitions, such as elementary to middle or middle to high school, including orientations and multi-year study plans.
  • Lead post-secondary planning activities, such as college and technical school exploration, SAT/PSAT preparation, and early awareness of financial aid opportunities.
  • Facilitate monthly evening counseling sessions, providing both individual appointments and group programming for parents to encourage family involvement in the guidance process.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • School Counseling certification or state licensure (or eligibility).
  • Prior experience in a school setting with elementary-age students is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Comfortable leading group presentations and facilitating interactive workshops.
  • Commitment to supporting student development in academic, social, and emotional domains.
