Make a positive impact as an Elementary School Adjustment Counselor supporting students across four elementary schools near Swanzey, NH. This contract position offers the chance to enhance student well-being and educational access by providing responsive counseling and rehabilitative services to children and their families. Spanning multiple locations, you’ll become a central resource for elementary-aged students, collaborating closely with school educational teams.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals who bring extensive school counseling experience or a background in mental health with school-based practice. Your role will involve working with educators and families, enabling children to thrive academically and socially. This is a full-time contracted position for 35 hours each week, running August 26, 2026, through June 15, 2027, with your time shared among the district's four elementary schools.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, or School Counselor, or as a Mental Health clinician with relevant school-based practice.
  • Possess or qualify for New Hampshire certification as a School Counselor (NH 0040), School Psychologist (NH 0046), Associate School Psychologist (NH 0047), or School Social Worker (NH 0049).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver responsive services and develop strategies to support student adjustment and overall well-being.
  • Provide counseling for students and families to increase student engagement and curriculum participation.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to assess student needs and contribute to individualized education and support plans.
  • Travel between Franklin, Wheelock, Symonds, and Fuller elementary schools as part of your scheduled rotation.
