Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, School Counseling, or a closely related field
  • Valid state licensure/certification as a School Adjustment Counselor, School Counselor, or Social Worker
  • Experience working within school settings, particularly providing support to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
  • Familiarity with IEP meetings, crisis intervention, and collaborative consultation with teachers and administrators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to create and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling services to students, both individually and in groups, focused on improving emotional regulation, coping skills, and social adjustment
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs and develop comprehensive support strategies
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement crisis intervention as needed
  • Support the development and monitoring of IEP goals related to social-emotional learning
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress notes, and communications, ensuring confidentiality
  • Engage in professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in school counseling and adjustment support
