School Counselor | Westfield, Massachusetts

This contract position, available through the end of the school year, offers you the opportunity to collaborate with school staff and families to help students navigate challenges and thrive academically and personally.

Key Qualifications:

• Educational background as a School Counselor, Adjustment Counselor, or Social Worker, preferably with prior school experience
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and student advocacy
• Familiarity with developing and implementing individual and group counseling sessions
• Empathetic listener with outstanding communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work well with students, families, educators, and administration
• Flexibility and initiative in responding to changing student and school needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to students in individual or group settings
• Assess students’ needs, develop appropriate support plans, and monitor progress
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to implement positive interventions
• Address crisis situations and facilitate referrals to additional resources as necessary
• Contribute to school teams focused on student support, adjustment, and academic achievement
• Maintain accurate and confidential records following district policies and best practices
