Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, School Counseling, or a closely related field
- Valid state licensure/certification as a School Adjustment Counselor, School Counselor, or Social Worker
- Experience working within school settings, particularly providing support to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
- Familiarity with IEP meetings, crisis intervention, and collaborative consultation with teachers and administrators
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, families, and staff
- Ability to create and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling services to students, both individually and in groups, focused on improving emotional regulation, coping skills, and social adjustment
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs and develop comprehensive support strategies
- Conduct risk assessments and implement crisis intervention as needed
- Support the development and monitoring of IEP goals related to social-emotional learning
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress notes, and communications, ensuring confidentiality
