Qualifications:

• Active Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (please include all current licenses and certifications with your application)
• Demonstrated experience or training working as a school counselor, particularly with high school populations
• Strong understanding of academic planning and high school graduation requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, families, and school staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, compassion, and professionalism in all student interactions

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive academic counseling to high school students, supporting their course selection, college planning, and personal development
• Act as a liaison between students, parents, and educational staff, fostering a collaborative support system
• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions as needed to address academic progress and concerns
• Help identify at-risk students and develop intervention plans to ensure their academic success
• Guide students through transitions, including post-secondary exploration and career pathways
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
