Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program
• Eligibility to obtain the necessary Virginia counselor license or endorsement as required by the district
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records
• Strong communication skills for consulting with students, families, and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to a diverse caseload of elementary students (specific numbers to be confirmed)
• Assess student needs and progress, using evidence-based interventions to support ongoing growth
• Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to develop coordinated intervention strategies
• Facilitate referrals to additional school or community resources as appropriate
• Uphold ethical standards regarding student records, privacy, and confidentiality
