Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a related field
  • Valid, current counselor certification/licensure as required by state regulations
  • Previous experience working as a school counselor or in a similar student support capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere within the school setting
  • Proficiency in case management, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development
  • Assess student needs and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective strategies and action plans
  • Lead programs promoting positive behavior, healthy coping skills, and peer relationships
  • Respond promptly to urgent situations, offering crisis intervention as needed
  • Monitor student progress, maintain confidential records, and prepare relevant reports
  • Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring their voices are heard and their well-being is prioritized
