Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan education certificate with a School Counselor Endorsement (please include all current licenses/certifications in your application)
• Experience as a School Counselor within secondary education is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of academic advising, college/career planning, and support services relevant to high school students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and fellow educators
• Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic counseling and planning support to high school students
• Guide students on graduation requirements, course selection, and post-secondary opportunities
• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to address academic, social, and emotional needs
• Collaborate with teachers and administration to identify at-risk students and develop intervention strategies
• Participate in school meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
