Make a lasting difference in the lives of students by supporting and empowering children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a small, focused caseload of 8 students across the PreK-12 age range, providing individualized instruction and advocacy in a collaborative educational environment. The assignment runs from August 10, 2026, through May 24, 2027, with a flexible workweek of 30-40 hours.

Ideal candidates bring expertise in auditory, speech, and language development, as well as a deep commitment to helping students communicate, learn, and thrive.

Qualifications

  • State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss, preferably in a school setting
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
  • Skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Direct instruction and support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (PreK-12)
  • Conduct assessments to guide interventions and monitor student progress
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet diverse communication needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create inclusive educational experiences
  • Consult with families and staff, providing resources and advocacy
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
