Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 settings
  • Strong understanding of auditory, communication, and educational needs of students with hearing loss
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly preferred
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student needs
  • Consult with educators and support staff to facilitate appropriate classroom accommodations
  • Promote auditory and communication skills using evidence-based practices
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support each learner’s success
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and collaborate on ongoing assessments
  • Advocate for accessible learning opportunities and resources to empower student participation
