Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of auditory, communication, and educational needs of students with hearing loss
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly preferred
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student needs
- Consult with educators and support staff to facilitate appropriate classroom accommodations
- Promote auditory and communication skills using evidence-based practices
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support each learner’s success
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and collaborate on ongoing assessments
- Advocate for accessible learning opportunities and resources to empower student participation
