This contract role is situated near Arlington Heights, IL, and provides flexibility—while the position is currently part-time, there is potential for full-time hours based on your availability.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching license/certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction (state credentials required)
• Demonstrated success supporting children and adolescents with hearing loss in a school environment
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for DHH students
• Familiarity with current assistive technology, communication methods (such as ASL), and best practices in DHH education
• Passion for promoting access, advocacy, and inclusive learning for all students
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative DHH instruction to students in various grade levels
• Design, adapt, and deliver instructional materials to meet individual student needs
• Support IEP development and implementation, including goal monitoring and progress reporting
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure accommodations and supports are in place
• Offer expertise and training regarding communication strategies, technology, and accessibility
• Advocate for student needs and facilitate an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
