A contract opportunity is available for an experienced professional to provide specialized instruction in a classroom setting, working full-time throughout the school year. This position offers a year-round schedule near vibrant Boston, MA, with a unique four-day work week during the summer months—Fridays are always free for you to recharge.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts DHH (DESE) certification required; Special Education (SPED) certification may be considered with prior Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) experience
- Background in teaching or supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Strong understanding of language development and educational strategies for students with hearing differences
- Ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and accessible classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to collaboration with fellow educators and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily instruction to a small caseload of five students
- Implement individualized education plans and track student progress
- Adapt curriculum resources to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a supportive and communicative classroom culture
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to maximize student outcomes
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external service providers
