This opportunity calls for a passionate educator to provide direct instruction and advocacy for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, working closely within a school setting for 20 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing services
  • Experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
  • Strong knowledge of strategies and tools for students with hearing loss
  • American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students aligned with their individual education plans
  • Assess students’ skills and needs to tailor educational approaches
  • Advocate for student accessibility and inclusion within the general education environment
  • Support classroom teachers with instructional strategies and resources
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Conduct outreach and communication with families to keep them informed and engaged
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school and district policies
