Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing within a school setting
• Strong knowledge of communication strategies, including American Sign Language (ASL) and/or auditory methods
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop tailored educational plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability and a compassionate approach to meeting individualized student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Consult with school staff to create accessible learning environments
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques aligned with each student’s preferred communication modality
• Monitor and document student progress, sharing updates with families and education teams
• Stay current on best practices and advances in deaf education
