Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school-based settings.
• Strong knowledge of current best practices and technologies in deaf education, including sign language proficiency (ASL) or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to diversity and inclusion in education.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments, both in individual and group settings.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to foster an accessible and inclusive classroom environment.
• Conduct assessments and participate actively in IEP meetings, providing critical input to help students progress toward their learning goals.
• Offer consultation, resources, and assistive technology recommendations to staff and families.
