Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist - Crystal Lake, Illinois

Seeking skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialists for the 2026-2027 school year with consideration for immediate openings. These full-time itinerant teaching positions serve K-12 students and focus on delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual hearing levels and communication needs. Remote locations include Freeport, Ogle County, and Hampshire, Illinois.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction to support students’ listening, speech, language, and communication development.
• Adapting curriculum and materials for accessibility, including visual supports and captioning.
• Monitoring and documenting student progress toward IEP goals.
• Providing direct instruction and consultative services as outlined in each student’s IEP.
• Assisting with the use and maintenance of hearing assistive technology such as hearing aids and FM/DM systems.

Desired qualifications include experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and the ability to tailor instruction to diverse communication methods. Strong knowledge of hearing assistive technology and IEP processes is essential.
