An opportunity is available for a Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teacher to provide specialized educational support to students with hearing impairments. This role is travel-based and located in Fort Worth, TX, offering the chance to work within diverse school environments while delivering high-quality instruction tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technologies to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to support student success.
- Assess students’ progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Promote communication skills, auditory development, and social integration among students.
- Provide resources and training to school staff on best practices for working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Teacher qualification with endorsement or certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings.
- Knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), Listening and Spoken Language, or Total Communication.
- Strong ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for this role.
Location and Travel:
