Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Fremont, CA

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid certification or license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent credential required
• Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf/hard of hearing in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of auditory assistive technology, accommodations, and best practices in DHH education
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or signed communication methods as needed
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with school staff, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings
• Assess students’ needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
• Advocate for students’ access to curriculum, school activities, and resources
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and staff regarding accommodations, technology, and instructional strategies
• Provide assistance and training to educators on effective classroom adaptations and communication options
• Engage with parents, caregivers, and service providers to build a supportive network for student success
