Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist supporting learners from PreK through 12th grade. This contract opportunity begins August 10th, 2026 and continues through May 24th, 2027, offering a consistent and rewarding schedule of 30-40 hours per week. Working with a manageable caseload of 8 students, you’ll collaborate with educators and families to ensure each student has the resources, encouragement, and specialized instruction needed for success.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Certification and/or licensure to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple age groups (PreK-12)
  • Strong skills in designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used by students
  • Compassionate approach, excellent communication, and collaboration skills
  • Adaptable to the diverse needs of students and committed to fostering an inclusive environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEP goals
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ unique communication, academic, and social needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student growth and well-being
  • Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Advocate for accessibility and integration of assistive technology as appropriate
  • Offer guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting DHH learners
