Requirements for Success:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent state credentials
- Experience supporting DHH students in K-12 school settings is highly preferred
- Skilled in developing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Comfortable collaborating with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Competence in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities for DHH students
- Ability to assess student needs and develop differentiated lesson plans
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to DHH students in one-on-one and small group settings
- Develop and implement IEPs and monitor student progress
- Provide consultative support to classroom teachers, ensuring accommodations and accessibility
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Serve as a resource for families, helping navigate learning supports and available services
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, evaluations, and school-wide initiatives
