Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification or eligibility as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Deep understanding of best practices for supporting students with hearing loss in school settings
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for accessibility
  • Familiarity with assistive listening devices and technology
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with teachers, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
  • Deliver direct instruction in both one-on-one and group settings
  • Advocate for students’ access to the general curriculum and extracurricular activities
  • Consult with general education teachers to support accommodation and inclusion
  • Provide training and resources on deaf awareness and instructional strategies
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate, confidential records
